Kajal Dhochak clinches second consecutive U20 World title, Tanu and Savita bag silver

Kajal Dhochak secured her second straight U20 World title, and Tanu Sharma along with Savita had to be content with silver medals at the U20 Wrestling World Championship held here.
The 18-year-old Kajal claimed the 76kg crown with a dominant 7-0 win over China's Jingru Sun in the summit clash. Last year, she had clinched the U20 World title in the 72kg category.
Kajal has now moved up to the senior ranks, having already claimed gold at the Ranking Series event in Mongolia this June, besides winning gold at the Budapest event in July. She had also emerged victorious at the U20 Asian Championship in Pattaya.
Competing in the 72kg category, Tanu battled hard in the gold medal contest against Japan's Chisato Yoshida but went down 3-5.
In the 62kg category, Savita came up against a tough opponent in Japan's Sakura Onishi in the summit clash and lost via technical superiority (2-12).
Mansi Lather is still in the running for gold in the 68kg event, where she will face China's Chenling Song in the final, while Komal takes on Spain's Rosa Molina Rodriguez in the 59kg repechage round.
India failed to secure a medal in Greco Roman wrestling. The men's freestyle event gets underway later on Friday and will conclude on Sunday. (With inputs from PTI)
