Jharkhand govt, protesters' delegation meet underway to resolve students' issues

A meeting of the protesters agitating over alleged irregularities in recruitment exams and the Jharkhand government is underway here on Friday to resolve the issue, said JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, under which the agitation is being held.

The protesters have been demanding cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination and an independent probe into the alleged irregularities either by the CBI or by a panel of retired high court judges from outside the state.

The protest over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) recruitment examinations entered its 14th day on Friday, with six protesters continuing their hunger strike.

"The meeting has been underway for an hour between the 10-member panel of the students and the government committee to look into the issue at the State Guest House here. From the government side, four of the five panel members - Ministers Sudivya Kumar, Dipika Pandey Singh, Chamra Linda and Sanjay Prasad Yadav are present," a JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch leader said.

Students protesting alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand earlier submitted a fresh 10-member panel to the state government for talks to resolve the issue.

The new list was sent after the government objected to the previous 11-member panel, which included an advocate and two technical experts, said the Manch.

Members of the new delegation are student leaders Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar, Rajesh Prasad, Neetu Kujur, Ankit Raj, Kartik Soren, Shalu Kumari, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Anand Kumar and Ankit Kumar.
