Jan Kalyan Shivirs to be held from June 18-20 to mark 12 years of Modi Govt

Delhi will organise 39 Jan Kalyan Shivirs across various parts of the city from June 18 to 20 to mark 12 years of the Modi government. Minister for Public Works Department Parvesh Sahib Singh announced on Thursday that the camps are designed to bring welfare scheme benefits and public services of both the Central and Delhi governments directly to citizens.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from more than 20 departments including Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs, MCD, Delhi Jal Board, Social Welfare, Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Finance, Home, PWD, Industries, DDA, Delhi Fire Services, Revenue, Power, Labour, Transport, Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, Education, Environment and Forest, DUSIB, and Urban Development, among others.
All departments were directed to ensure that citizens visiting the camps receive information, assistance, and access to government services in a simple, efficient, and citizen-friendly manner. Special emphasis was placed on maximising public participation and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes without difficulty.
Speaking after the review meeting, Parvesh Sahib Singh said the shivirs are intended to close the distance between the government and the people. “The objective of these Jan Kalyan Shivirs is to bridge the gap between the government and the people and ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of the benefits of any welfare scheme. Our effort is to ensure that every government scheme reaches the last person in the queue and that every citizen feels the presence of the government at their doorstep,” he said.
The minister said the camps go beyond information dissemination. “These camps are not merely a platform to disseminate information about government schemes, but also an important medium for direct interaction with citizens and resolution of their concerns. All departments have been instructed to work in close coordination and provide the best possible services to the people,” he said.
The Jan Kalyan Shivirs are being organised as part of the BJP’s broader citywide programme marking the completion of 12 years of the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi, which coincides this week with Modi crossing the milestone of becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister with 4,399 days in office. The camps are framed as a direct public service extension of the party’s governance anniversary celebrations, with the stated goal of ensuring welfare scheme benefits reach every eligible resident of Delhi across all parts of the city.
Parvesh Sahib Singh holds the portfolios of Public Works Department, Water Department, Legislative Affairs, Irrigation and Flood Control, and Gurudwara Elections in the Delhi government. The review meeting he chaired on Thursday covered the full logistics and coordination requirements for running 39 simultaneous camps across the city over a three-day period, involving nearly every major department of the Delhi government.
The minister appealed to residents of Delhi to visit the nearest Jan Kalyan Shivir during the June 18 to 20 period and access information and services related to welfare schemes offered by both the Central and Delhi governments.
Further operational details about the locations of all 39 camps across Delhi are expected to be announced in the days ahead.
