Jharkhand minister Dipika Pandey Singh's daughter among four killed in Jamshedpur road accident

Four people, including Trisha Singh, daughter of Jharkhand Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Dipika Pandey Singh, were killed in a road accident in Jamshedpur early Thursday, September 24, police said.

The accident occurred around 3 am on Marine Drive Road near Domuhani, in the Sonari police station area, when the speeding car the four were travelling in rammed into a truck parked along the roadside. The impact was severe enough to leave the car completely wrecked. Police who reached the spot took all four occupants, two men and two women, to MGM Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash and are working to ascertain its exact cause.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren condoled the deaths in a social media post. "The extremely distressing and heart-wrenching news of the demise of fellow minister and sister Mrs Dipika Pandey Singh ji's daughter and other individuals in a road accident on the national highway in Jamshedpur has left my heart profoundly grieved. The pain of losing one's child is beyond words and unbearable for any parent and family. In this extremely difficult time, my deepest condolences are with sister Dipika ji and the bereaved families. There are no words for this irreparable loss," Soren said, adding, "May Marang Buru grant peace to the souls of the departed and provide strength to the grieving families to bear this immense sorrow."

Fellow minister Irfan Ansari also expressed grief over the incident, extending his condolences to Dipika Pandey Singh and her family.
