J&K Government approves Rs 6.38 crore project for Sikh Shrine Khoo Sahib Spring

The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a Rs 6.38 crore project to develop the Khoo Sahib spring, a revered Sikh religious site in Pulwama district, an official said on Wednesday, July 29, as reported by PTI.

An official spokesperson said that the project is aimed at preserving and developing the region's religious and heritage sites which will fund development of the holy spring at Yarwan, Shadimarg in Pulwama.

The spokesperson said the project aims to upgrade essential infrastructure and improve facilities for devotees and visitors while preserving the site's religious, cultural and historical significance.

The initiative is expected to enhance the pilgrim experience and support conservation of one of south Kashmir's prominent spiritual landmarks, the spokesperson stated.

The approval follows the government's recent sanction of two other heritage conservation projects worth Rs 16.36 crore for restoring the historic Jamia Masjid Sharief in Shopian and the Sarvadhar Chaumanda Mata Mandir in Ramban, the spokesperson mentioned.
