Israeli envoy invites Indian firms to help build airports in Israel

Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar has expressed hope that Indian companies will play a role in developing airport infrastructure in Israel after two Indian airports were recognised among the World's Most Beautiful Airports 2026. His remarks came after Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and Navi Mumbai International Airport earned global recognition for their architecture and design.

Responding to the achievement, Azar said he hoped to see Indian firms contributing to airport construction projects in Israel as well. The Indian Embassy in Israel also celebrated the recognition, describing it as proof of India's rapid transformation in infrastructure and its ability to combine modern engineering with sustainability and local cultural heritage.

The recognition has further highlighted India's growing expertise in airport design and development. Guwahati's Terminal 2 was praised for its bamboo-inspired architecture and integration of Assamese art, while Navi Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 1 was recognised for its lotus-inspired design and modern passenger experience.

The development reflects increasing opportunities for infrastructure collaboration between India and Israel, particularly in aviation and urban development.
