One killed, three injured after Iranian vessel struck near Strait of Hormuz

An Iranian commercial vessel was reportedly struck early Sunday off Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, leaving one person dead and three others injured, state-run media reported.

Separately, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) monitor said that a vessel was hit by a projectile while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It did not provide further details.

There was no immediate statement from the US military. The US has previously struck Iranian-flagged vessels as it continues its blockade of Iranian ports.  (with inputs from Associated Press)
