Indian techie arrested in US for allegedly killing wife, sending photo of body to girlfriend

An Indian software engineer has been arrested in the United States for allegedly murdering his wife and sending a photograph of her body to his girlfriend in India, according to investigators. The accused, identified as 30-year-old Avinash Narne from Telangana, has been charged with first-degree murder.
Police allege Narne strangled his 27-year-old wife, Raajitha Sabbineni, at their apartment in Bellevue, Washington, in October 2025, just months after their marriage. Investigators believe he attempted to stage the death as a suicide before misleading authorities during the initial probe.
During the investigation, detectives uncovered evidence suggesting Narne had been in a secret relationship with another woman in India before and after his marriage. Authorities allege he sent a photograph of his wife's body to the woman following the killing and had discussed plans to be with her.
Investigators also examined digital evidence, including phone records and online activity, which they say pointed to premeditation. Following an extensive investigation, Narne was arrested on June 27 and formally charged with first-degree murder.
The case has drawn widespread attention in both India and the United States due to the alleged circumstances surrounding the murder and the evidence presented by investigators. The matter remains under judicial process, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
