Indian Army introduces tennis training for students at Aalo

Spearhead Division under the aegis of Spear Corps conducted an introductory tennis orientation programme for 50 students and two teachers from Aalo town at Aalo Military Station on 04 July 2026, with the aim of nurturing sporting talent and encouraging healthy lifestyles among the youth.

The programme introduced students to the history, rules and fundamentals of tennis through interactive demonstrations, motivational videos and practical sessions on the court. Participants were familiarised with basic strokes, court etiquette, scoring, playing techniques and the values of discipline, perseverance, focus and sportsmanship promoted by the game.

The initiative marks an important step towards expanding sporting opportunities for young people in a remote frontier region where exposure to specialised sports such as tennis remains limited. By opening the tennis infrastructure at Aalo Military Station to local students, the Indian Army has created a platform for them to explore a new sport and develop their skills under guided supervision.
