India storm into 8 finals, secure 7 bronze medals at Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships

Indian boxers continued their impressive run at the Asian U-19 and U-23 Boxing Championships in Jakarta, with 8 athletes advancing to the finals across the men's and women's U-23 categories. The contingent also guaranteed 7 bronze medals after strong semifinal performances.

In the U-23 women's competition, Nisha (54kg), Nikita Chand (60kg), Kajal (65kg), Muskan (75kg) and Priyanka (+80kg) booked their places in the finals with dominant victories. Nisha, Nikita and Kajal forced referee stoppages, while Muskan and Priyanka registered convincing 5-0 wins over their respective opponents.

In the U-23 men's category, Vishvanath Suresh (50kg), Ganga (55kg) and Vanshaj (65kg) also reached the finals. Vishvanath recorded a dominant 5-0 victory, Ganga edged past his Japanese rival in a closely fought 3-2 bout, and Vanshaj secured a 4-1 win over his Kyrgyzstan opponent.

India also collected seven bronze medals through semifinal finishes. In the women's section, Tanu (51kg), Prachi (57kg), Shivani (70kg) and Naina (80kg) finished with bronze, while Hitesh (70kg), Neeraj (75kg) and Ishan Kataria (+90kg) claimed bronze medals in the men's competition, capping another successful outing for the Indian contingent.
