Sony Sports Network acquires exclusive TV rights for India-Afghanistan T20I series

Sony Sports Network has secured exclusive television broadcast rights for the three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan, which will begin in Delhi on September 13.
The opening match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13, with the second and third T20Is scheduled for September 15 and 17 respectively.
Sony Sports said the series will add to its cricket programming under its ongoing ‘Festival of Sports’ campaign. The network will broadcast the matches across India, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan.
India will be led by Shreyas Iyer, with the squad featuring Ishan Kishan, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma and Varun Chakravarthy. The availability of Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana will depend on their fitness.
Afghanistan will be captained by Ibrahim Zadran, with Rashid Khan heading a spin-heavy bowling attack. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sediqullah Atal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi are also part of the squad.
Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan said playing in India would provide the team an opportunity to compete against India while highlighting Afghanistan’s progress in international cricket.
