ICAI celebrates International Day of Yoga worldwide

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the spirit of wellness on the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 through yoga sessions organised across the country, witnessing enthusiastic and overwhelming participation across its 5 regional councils, 186 branches and overseas chapters.
Aligning with this year’s inspiring global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” ICAI’s celebrations echoed the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting India’s holistic framework for longevity, mental agility and lifelong well-being. The IDY 2026 celebrations, pan-India, were organised under the aegis of the Beneficiary Schemes Directorate and the Public Relations Committee of ICAI.
As a premier professional body, ICAI recognises that sustainable economic and professional success is built upon a foundation of physical and mental wellness. This year’s theme underscores a critical global shift: treating health not merely as the absence of disease but as a proactive journey toward longevity.
On this occasion, CA Prasanna Kumar D, President, ICAI, along with the Members of the Central Council and the Northern India Regional Council, and CA (Dr) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary, ICAI, participated in the yoga session, setting a powerful example of leadership through wellness. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from ICAI members and employees, reflecting their commitment to holistic well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
Encouraging the CA fraternity to integrate the practice into their demanding daily routines, CA Prasanna Kumar D, President, ICAI, stated, “Yoga is India’s timeless gift to humanity, offering a perfect blueprint for a balanced life. For chartered accountants, whose responsibilities demand utmost intellectual sharpness and emotional strength, Yoga bridges the critical gap between professional career and a healthy life. By embedding yoga into our daily lives, we embrace a holistic vision for longevity.”
Simultaneously, in Mumbai, the Yoga Day celebrations were graced by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, along with central & regional council members. Echoing the sentiments at the Mumbai Yoga Day celebrations, Piyush Goyal said, “As our Hon’ble Prime Minister has emphasised, development and heritage must go hand in hand. The vision of a Viksit Bharat can be realised only when we remain deeply rooted in our culture, heritage and values, while carrying them forward with pride for future generations.
