Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar warns against midnight birthday celebrations on Tank Bund

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has urged youngsters and parents to avoid midnight birthday celebrations and cake-cutting events on Tank Bund, major roads, lakes and parks, warning that reckless celebrations can put lives at risk.

The appeal follows a fatal road accident on Tank Bund around 2 am in which a six-year-old girl and a family member were killed on the child’s birthday.

Sajjanar visited the accident site and reviewed preventive measures with officials.

“It is sad that birthday celebrations, which should be happy times, sometimes end in tragedy for families because of careless or risky actions,” the commissioner said.

He pointed out that birthday celebrations on Tank Bund are prohibited under existing rules and urged people to celebrate at home or at safe venues instead.

“Don’t risk precious lives for a moment of fun,” Sajjanar said, appealing to the public to cooperate with Hyderabad City Police and follow safety rules.
