Hyderabad to face 24-hour water disruption

Hyderabad is set to face drinking-water disruptions for 24 hours from 10 am on August 29 to 10 am on August 30 due to pipeline junction work at Bandlaguda X Road, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has said.
The work involves a 1,500-mm-diameter mild-steel gravity main of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project Phase-III, Ring Main-I. The junction work is required to facilitate the construction of a box drain being taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at Bandlaguda X Road.
Water supply in several areas is expected to be either disrupted or maintained at low pressure during the work. Affected areas include Bandlaguda, Shastripuram, Shamshabad, Attapur, Kismatpur, Allabanda, Bhojagutta, Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Tattikhana and parts of Shaikpet, among others.
HMWSSB has advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water and use available supplies judiciously during the 24-hour shutdown.
