Gukesh leads long list of star players in Chennai Grand Masters from July 16

World Champion D Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi and former World Rapid Champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov are some of the leading players who will feature in the fourth edition of the Chennai Grand Masters, to be held here from July 16 to 22. The tournament, which carries a prize pool of Rs 75 lakh, also offers valuable FIDE Circuit points as players continue their pursuit of qualification for the next Candidates Tournament.

The tournament will also see two-time Grand Chess Tour champion Alireza Firouzja, 2026 Bullet Chess Champion Nihal Sarin, former Candidates challenger Dmitry Andreikin, American GM Hans Niemann, and last year’s Challengers champion Pranesh M in action.
