GDA demolishes illegal colony in Loni area

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Tuesday carried out a demolition drive against an unauthorised colony being developed on Khasra Nos 373, 374 and 377 in Nawada village, Loni, Ghaziabad.
The action was taken under the relevant provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, under the leadership of the In-charge of Enforcement Zone-08.
According to the GDA, the unauthorised colony was being developed by Sonu, son of Mohammad Ali, and Sajid, son of Yamin.
During the drive, the team demolished structures and infrastructure at the site, including boundary walls of around 200-250 plots, a site office, electricity poles, roads, and sewer lines.
Local developers and residents strongly opposed the action, but the GDA Police Force brought the situation under control, after which the demolition continued as per procedure. The operation was carried out in the presence of Enforcement Zone-08 staff, GDA Police personnel and the Authority’s enforcement team.
The GDA said its campaign against unauthorised development will continue in the coming months, with strict action, including demolition and sealing of unauthorised constructions, as per applicable provisions.
