FICCI delegation engages Chinese industry

The Consulate General of India in Shanghai hosted a high-level interaction with a delegation from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) led by FICCI President Anant Goenka on 15 May 2026, bringing together leading Indian industry representatives and prominent Chinese business leaders to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
In his keynote address, Consul General Pratik Mathur highlighted the achievements of India’s ongoing economic transformation under the Government of India’s vision of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasised that India’s policy focus on resilient supply chains, ease of doing business, digital public infrastructure, and manufacturing competitiveness — supported by initiatives such as Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes — has created significant opportunities for global partnerships. The Consul General noted that Eastern China, as a hub of advanced manufacturing and innovation, is well-positioned to partner with India in co-developing industrial ecosystems, scaling investments, and fostering technology collaboration. Highlighting the strengths of Indian industry, Shri Mathur reiterated FICCI’s role as a key bridge between Indian and global businesses. He underscored the strong potential for collaboration in sectors including advanced manufacturing, green technologies, digital economy, healthcare, and infrastructure. He also called for institutionalized industry linkages and sustained B2B engagement between India — the world’s fastest-growing major economy — and enterprises across the region.
The interaction served as a platform for substantive discussions on enhancing trade, investment flows, and technological cooperation between India and China. The Consulate General of India in Shanghai reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating stronger engagement between Indian and Chinese stakeholders and supporting initiatives that contribute to mutually beneficial economic development.
