Faridabad kidnapping case: Two arrested for holding man captive for 7 days

Two men have been arrested in Faridabad for allegedly abducting a man at gunpoint, holding him captive for seven days and demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his family, police said.

According to police, the victim was allegedly assaulted during his captivity and subjected to severe physical abuse, including being doused with petrol and allegedly forced to drink it.

The victim eventually managed to send his location to his family, who alerted the police. His relatives, along with a police team, reached the location and rescued him. The accused had fled before the rescue operation but were subsequently arrested, police said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak alias Kale and Lucky, both residents of Ali village in Delhi. Police said efforts were underway to trace the other suspects allegedly involved in the crime.

According to the complaint, the incident began on September 8 when an acquaintance, identified as Vicky, called the victim to Dheeraj Nagar in Faridabad on the pretext of urgent work.

When the victim reached the location, he allegedly met Vicky, his brother Lucky and three or four other men. Police said Vicky allegedly pointed a pistol at him, forced him into a car and blindfolded him before taking him to another location.

The accused allegedly assaulted the victim and demanded that he arrange Rs 5 lakh from his family. Police said he was kept captive and allegedly tortured for around seven days.

Taking advantage of an opportunity, the victim secretly shared his location with his family, who immediately informed the police.

The Palla police registered a case and began an investigation. A Faridabad Police spokesperson said Lucky and Deepak had confessed during questioning to holding the victim captive and assaulting him. Police are continuing efforts to arrest the remaining accused.
