D.K. Shivakumar Sworn In as Karnataka Chief Minister, G. Parameshwara Takes Oath as Deputy CM

Senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar was sworn in as the 34th Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday, marking the completion of the leadership transition from outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru in the presence of top Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. Shivakumar took the oath of office and secrecy in the name of Gangadhar Ajjayya.
Alongside the Chief Minister, 13 Cabinet ministers were also sworn in. Senior leader G. Parameshwara took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister in the name of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The new Cabinet includes Yathindra Siddaramaiah, U.T. Khader, M.B. Patil, K.J. George, K.H. Muniyappa, Satish Jarkiholi, Ramalinga Reddy, Krishna Byregowda, Priyank Kharge, Ishwar Khandre, Byrathi Suresh and Sharan Prakash Patil.
Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, made his debut in the state Cabinet. Congress sources indicated that the ministry may be expanded after the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several Congress chief ministers, party leaders, social activists, farmers' representatives, students, and religious leaders. The new government is expected to focus on governance, welfare delivery, and preparations for future electoral challenges in the state.
