DK Shivakumar likely to take oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on June 3

Karnataka Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar is likely to be sworn in on June 3 at 4:10 pm, with Congress leaders expected to meet Governor Thawarchand Gehlot to finalise the ceremony. Sources said the oath-taking event will be a simple affair, with the timing chosen after consultations and keeping key leaders' availability in mind.

The new Congress government is expected to balance caste and community representation, with two deputy chief ministers likely to be inducted from Dalit and minority communities. The leadership is also considering younger faces and broader representation for Dalits, OBCs and minorities as it prepares for the 2028 Assembly elections following Siddaramaiah's resignation.
