YouTuber Dhruv Rathee detained ahead of CJP protest at Jantar Mantar

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was detained by Delhi Police from his residence in Sector 56 of Gurugram on Saturday ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, police sources said.

Rathee had planned to join the demonstration, prompting heightened security arrangements across the national capital.

Earlier this week, Delhi Police denied permission for the proposed protest, citing security considerations and procedural requirements.

Police have stepped up preventive detentions and deployed personnel at strategic locations to prevent protesters from reaching the protest site.

So far, around 150 protesters have been detained from various locations in the New Delhi area, police sources said.
