Delhi Weather Update: IMD forecasts Rain, Gusty winds and relief from heat in NCR

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast changing weather conditions for Delhi-NCR, with chances of rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds bringing temporary relief from recent heat and humidity.

According to the latest weather updates, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of around 38.5°C, which is slightly below the seasonal average, indicating relatively moderate heat conditions for this time of year. The IMD has also predicted light rain and strong winds in several parts of the capital and adjoining NCR regions.

Weather models suggest that the region may witness spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and winds reaching significant speeds during the day. These conditions are expected to persist intermittently, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.

Officials said the fluctuating weather pattern is being influenced by active atmospheric conditions over northwest India, which are also bringing rainfall to several other northern states.

While the rain is expected to offer short-term relief from heat, temperatures may still fluctuate throughout the week, with humid conditions likely to persist between wet spells.

Residents have been advised to stay updated with local weather alerts, as sudden thunderstorms and strong winds could impact traffic movement and outdoor activities in parts of Delhi-NCR.
