Delhi-Punjab bond rooted in Sikh history: LG

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Saturday underscored the deep historical and spiritual ties between Delhi and Punjab during his visit to several prominent Sikh shrines in Sri Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib.
The LG said the relationship between the national capital and Punjab is closely linked to the lives and teachings of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, as well as historic Delhi shrines such as Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.
He noted that the bond has been further strengthened by Delhi’s large Punjabi and Sikh population, many of whom migrated to the city during Partition and rebuilt their lives through resilience and hard work, contributing significantly to the capital’s social and cultural fabric.
