Cockroach Janta Party’s X Account Withheld in India Hours After Viral Growth

The social media-driven satirical movement “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP) faced a major development after its X account was withheld in India, only hours after the platform gained massive popularity and reportedly surpassed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Instagram followers.
Reports suggest that the account displayed a notice stating it had been withheld in India “in response to a legal demand.”
The development comes amid the rapid rise of CJP, which has become a major Gen Z-driven online phenomenon in recent days.
The movement reportedly crossed nearly 13 million followers on Instagram and had also gathered more than 200,000 followers on X before access was restricted in India.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke publicly reacted to the development by sharing screenshots of the account restriction and commenting on the timing of the action.
Reports also indicate that the movement has attracted large online engagement because of its satirical messaging around unemployment, governance issues, and youth-related concerns.
The incident has now sparked wider discussions on social media around digital expression, satire, and platform moderation.
While the X account remains withheld in India, CJP's presence on Instagram and other platforms continues to generate strong engagement among young audiences.
