CM Rekha visits Kanwar camps in Mayapuri, Pitampura

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday visited Kanwar service camps in Mayapuri and Pitampura during the Sawan season on Sunday.

The Chief Minister welcomed and greeted Shiva devotees at both locations, showering flowers on Kanwariyas at the Mayapuri camp and distributing prasad, and reviewing the facilities and arrangements being provided to pilgrims carrying holy Ganga water from Haridwar.

At the Mayapuri camp, the Chief Minister interacted with Shiva devotees and enquired about their journeys. She reviewed the arrangements made at the camp and appreciated the dedication of the workers engaged in service. MLA Anil Sharma, MLA Umang Bajaj, former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, and a large number of Shiva devotees were present.

The Chief Minister said there is deep reverence across society for Kanwariyas who arrive in Delhi from Haridwar carrying holy Ganga water during the auspicious month of Sawan. "Like last year, Delhi is once again immersed in devotion to Baba Bhole, with Kanwar service camps set up across the city serving devotees with complete dedication and commitment," she said.

At the Pitampura camp, the Chief Minister met devotees, and the workers engaged in their service and took stock of the facilities available. She said the Kanwar Yatra is a unique confluence of faith, devotion, discipline, and service and appreciated the work being carried out by various organisations and volunteers across Delhi to serve Shiva devotees.

She said the Delhi Government is committed to ensuring that every Shiva devotee passing through the capital gets a safe, smooth, and comfortable environment, and that the government and administration are working with full preparedness on the necessary arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra.

The Chief Minister added that the serving Shiva devotees is not merely a matter of logistics and arrangements but a responsibility rooted in faith and the spirit of service. She thanked all service committees, organisers, volunteers, and workers engaged in Kanwar service and appreciated their dedication.

She extended greetings to all Shiva devotees on the occasion of Sawan and prayed for a safe, successful, and auspicious journey for all Kanwariyas.
