CISF recovers firearms, live bullet, Rs 15.77 lakh cash in Delhi Metro

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has intercepted four firearms and a live bullet in the Delhi Metro network during the first half of 2026, according to official data.
The force also recovered cash of more than Rs 15.77 lakh that had been forgotten in station areas by commuters. This money was restored to respective owners.
The CISF provides counter-terror cover to more than 270 stations of the Delhi Metro network. The force also demonstrated exceptional honesty through its lost-and-found services. During the six-month period, CISF personnel recovered and returned monetary valuables worth Rs 22,77,061 to their rightful owners. The amount included Rs 15,77,061 in cash and a bank cheque worth `7 lakh. Foreign currencies recovered included 80 British Pounds, 6,000 Nepalese Rupees, 130 Singapore Dollars and 1.15 crore Indonesian Rupiah.
In addition, several high-value personal belongings were traced and returned. These included 80 grams of loose gold, 2 gold chains, 2 gold rings, 2 pairs of gold earrings, a mangalsutra and various silver ornaments. The force also recovered 32 laptops, 68 mobile phones and 9 watches.
The data said a total of 69 missing or runaway children were intercepted by CISF personnel in the Delhi Metro network, and subsequently reunited with their families. Beyond operational duties, the CISF DMRC Unit continued to play a key role in training security personnel from other organisations.
A total of 389 personnel received specialised training in frisking and security equipment handling, including 203 personnel from the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force, 63 from the CRPF, 40 from the Railway Protection Force, 39 from the International Bureau of Security Academies, 36 from the ITBP and 8 officers from the Indian Army.
