CEPC holds 43rd annual general meeting

The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) held its 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15 September 2026 at Hotel Radisson, Noida.

Capt Mukesh Gombar, chairman, CEPC, presided over the AGM. The meeting was attended by Aslam Mahboob, vice-chairman, CEPC, along with Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Mohd Wasif Ansari, Anil Kumar Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Piyush Kumar Baranwal, Bodh Raj Malhotra, Rohit Gupta, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, Mehraj Yasin Jan and Shukat Khan, Members of the Committee of Administration and Dr Smita Nagarkoti, Executive Director-cum-Secretary (officiating).

The AGM was also attended by Vijay Thakur, Cottage Crafts of India; RB Mathur, Warp + Weft International; Suman Kaul, Kashyap Carpets; Ashwani Tiwari, ANA International; Qayyum Abdul, Hannan’s Oriental Rugs; Bilal Ahmad Kawoosa, Kashmir Carpet Producer Co Ltd; Hilal Ahmad, Jansons; and Sunil Bazaz, Qaleen Alishan.

The General Body approved the following key matters:

Adoption of Balance Sheet

The General Body adopted the Audited Balance Sheet and Income & Expenditure Accounts of the Council for the year ended 31 March 2026, along with the Report of the Auditors.

Revision of Membership Fee Structure

The membership fee structure was reviewed and placed before the General Body for consideration. Following deliberations, the General Body approved the revised Annual Membership Fee linked to export performance, with the following slabs: Export Performance Annual Membership Fee

Up to Rs 50 lakh Rs 3,000

Above Rs 50 lakh up to Rs 1 crore Rs 4,500

Above Rs 1 crore up to Rs 10 crore Rs 6,500

Above Rs 10 crore Rs 12,000

Retirement by Rotation and Elections

The General Body approved the conduct of elections for one-third of the Members of the Committee of Administration from the various categories. The election will be notified on 2 November 2026, with the elections to be conducted in December 2026.

Export Achievement Incentive for New Members

The General Body approved an Export Achievement Incentive for eligible new Members. A new Member achieving exports of Rs 50 lakh or more during the first year of membership will be eligible for reimbursement of the Rs 3,000 annual membership fee in the following year.
