Centre gives nod for double-decker elevated corridor in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct. 13: The Central government on Tuesday approved the construction of the proposed double-decker elevated corridor between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar in Hyderabad.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari confirmed the project approval to Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday. The state minister was in New Delhi to discuss the state's infrastructure projects with the Union Minister.

The Union Minister also approved laying the foundation stone for construction of a cable-stayed bridge across the Krishna River, which will improve connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh along National Highway 167K, boosting transportation and tourism.

Gadkari directed officials to prepare a fresh detailed project report (DPR) for an elevated corridor on the Hyderabad–Srisailam National Highway (NH-765), according to a statement.

The Union Minister also approved five ropeway projects under the Parvatmala scheme and three road over bridges (ROBs) under the Setu Bandhan scheme for Telangana.

Gadkari responded positively to the proposal for the Hyderabad–Amaravati greenfield highway, the statement said.

Venkat Reddy requested the allocation of Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) funds for 34 road works in Telangana. In response, Gadkari directed officials regarding the request.

At Venkat Reddy's invitation, the Union Minister said he would attend the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from November 19 to 22.
