CBSE postpones class 12 re-evaluation portal to June 1 amid website strengthening for error-free process

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the launch of its Class 12 re-evaluation and verification portal, shifting the opening date from May 29 to June 1, 2026, citing ongoing efforts to strengthen the website and ensure a smooth user experience.
The portal, which is part of the post-result activities under the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, was expected to go live on Friday but has been delayed to avoid technical glitches and ensure transparency for students applying for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation.
A CBSE official confirmed that the decision was taken as part of backend improvements to handle heavy traffic and maintain system stability during the application process. The board said it is committed to providing a glitch-free and transparent evaluation system.
Under the OSM system, millions of answer sheets were evaluated digitally without physical movement of papers, a shift that has significantly changed the post-result process for students across India.
Once the portal opens on June 1, students who have already obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets will be able to raise question-wise objections if they are dissatisfied with awarded marks.
CBSE has also advised students to use official marking schemes while submitting objections and has provided helpline and email support for queries related to the process.
The verification and re-evaluation process will involve subject experts reviewing disputed answers, with any confirmed corrections reflected in updated marks.
The board has reduced fees for post-result services and assured students that refunds will be provided if marks increase after re-evaluation, aiming to improve transparency and student confidence in the system.
