CATC-42 concludes successfully at JNV Nalbari

The Combined Annual Training Camp CATC-42 of 1 Assam Battalion NCC, Guwahati Group, concluded successfully at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Nalbari, with 550 cadets from schools and colleges across Kamrup Metro, Dispur, Guwahati, Nalbari, and Rangia completing 10 days of intensive training. Organised under NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati, the camp focused on ‘Unity and Discipline’ through drill, weapon training, map reading, field craft, first aid and leadership development. Cadets also underwent firing practice and took part in cultural events, debates and sports to build all-round personality. During the camp, as part of Special Training Modules to broaden the exposure, cadets attended lectures and demonstrations by personnel of 1 NDRF Battalion, who trained them in disaster response, rescue techniques and earthquake safety protocols relevant to Assam.

Instructors from the Assam Mountaineering Association conducted sessions on adventure basics and high-altitude survival, encouraging cadets towards adventure training.

The camp also featured strong Army interaction. On 10 June 2026, Red Horns Division, Gajraj Corps conducted a Motivational Weapon Display showcasing latest infantry weapons. Troops shared operational insights, inspiring cadets to consider careers in the Armed Forces.

Brigadier NC Khuman during his visit to the Camp lauded the cadets for discipline and performance. Best performers were awarded for excellence in drill, academics and cultural events.

CATC-42 reaffirmed NCC’s commitment to shaping disciplined, skilled and patriotic youth while strengthening bonds between cadets, Armed Forces and civil agencies.
