CAQM reviews enforcement actions across NCR

The CAQM Enforcement Task Force (ETF) has reviewed reports from 245 inspections and enforcement actions carried out in the National Capital Region area between May 11 and May 29 at its 132nd meeting.

The flying squads carried out 31 inspections across construction and demolition sites, 74 inspections across the industrial sector, and 140 inspections related to diesel generator sets.

A total of 87 violations were reported, including 21 from construction and demolition sites, 25 from the industrial sector and 41 across diesel generator sets.

“The ETF also reviewed the issue of road dust mitigation and took note of inspections carried out by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on May 18,” an official said on Saturday.

During these inspections, nine areas were examined, and 37 violations were reported. The ETF examined inspections conducted by Municipal Corporation Ghaziabad on May 26, covering four areas where 24 violations were reported.

“Moreover, the Commission for Air Quality Management has emphasised the need for timely submission of inspection reports by flying squad teams along with photographic/videographic evidence,” said the official.
