BJP hails historic moment as PM gets Slovakia’s top award

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Slovakia’s highest civilian award, the BJP on Tuesday described it as “historic” and said it is a recognition of his welfare work in the country and the global trust he has earned.

Speaking to reporters, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said the bestowing of the award on the prime minister has brought honour to the country.

“With this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred a total of 33 highest civilian awards of various countries. These awards have been bestowed on him for the development work that he has done and the trust that he has earned – not just in India but across the globe,” the BJP MP said.

These awards have been conferred on the prime minister also for the work that he has done for the welfare of the country’s people, including those who are poor, he said.
