Bhadohi Police book X user over alleged objectionable posts against PM Modi, Kangana Ranaut

Police in Bhadohi have registered a case against an X user for allegedly posting indecent and derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and making objectionable comments on a post by BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut, officials said on Friday.
The case was registered at Kotwali police station on Thursday night following a complaint by Praveen Kumar, the social media in-charge of Bhadohi district police. Police invoked Sections 79 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
Kotwali SHO Shailesh Kumar Rai said a user identified as “Ajay Kumar Pal” had posted indecent content along with an objectionable remark targeting the prime minister on his X account on September 17.
The SHO said the same account was also used to comment on a post by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, allegedly using indecent and derogatory language.
Police said they have received the accused's mobile number, screenshots and links to the posts as part of the complaint. Further action will be taken after the evidence is examined. (with inputs from PTI)
