Kolkata to host Barcelona-Real Madrid legends’ clash on November 25

Football legends associated with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off in an exhibition match at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium on November 25, West Bengal Sports Minister Indranil Khan announced on Tuesday.

The match will be held at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan, popularly known as the Salt Lake Stadium.

Khan announced the fixture in a post on his official X handle, writing: “El Clásico Loading.. #Barcelona Legends vs #RealMadrid Legends.. November 25, 2026 Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan, #Kolkata.”

The exhibition match will bring the two clubs' storied rivalry to Kolkata, where football enjoys a strong following.

The announcement comes after the iconic venue hosted two high-profile international friendlies involving the Indian men's football team earlier this month.

India faced five-time world champions Brazil on October 3 before taking on two-time world champions Uruguay on October 6, with both matches drawing attention to the city's footballing tradition.
