Andhra Pradesh Police form SIT to probe death of Assamese student Himashree Boro

Andhra Pradesh Police have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the death of Assamese student Himashree Boro, whose body was found near a railway track in Srikakulam district, officials said.

According to an official release, Boro’s body was found on October 7 near Penubarthi village, on the right side of the railway tracks between Vizianagaram and Srikakulam Road.

The Superintendent of Police, Srikakulam, visited the scene along with the SIT and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Specialised teams, including the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), a clues team, dog squads and drone teams, were deployed to examine the scene and surrounding areas for evidence.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to Boro’s death. Further details about the findings of the SIT have not been made public in the report.
