Amazon Business logs 65% sales growth in 2026

Amazon Business, the B2B platform of e-commerce major Amazon, has so far recorded a 65 per cent year-on-year growth in sales nationally this year, driven by strong demand from MSMEs and corporate buyers, a top company official said on Tuesday.

The company is also working towards increasing the growth rate in West Bengal, where sales were up 35 per cent during the period, while bulk orders in the state surged 80 per cent, Amazon Business Director Mitranjan Bhaduri said. “At the national level, our five-year growth rate is about 40 per cent on sales. But if you look at just this year, we have seen a 65 per cent year-on-year growth rate for the year-to-date period,” the company official told reporters here.

West Bengal is showing “strong growth at 35 per cent”, but there is a “large upside potential” here, Bhaduri said, adding that the company was working to expand awareness among business customers.

The lion’s share of Amazon Business in the State is consumption driven by businesses and not resellers, while services and manufacturing are the key sectors that lead the sales.

The state has over 70,000 sellers and 20,000 local shops on the platform, supported by two fulfilment centres, three sort units, more than 100 delivery stations and around 1050 hub partners.

Amazon is also deploying AI tools to help regional sellers with cataloguing, inventory optimisation and product visibility, he said.

Nationally, 65 per cent of business customers now come from tier 2 and 3 cities, and 70 per cent of orders are placed via mobile devices, Bhaduri said.

“We really want to democratise procurement. It should be available to every business of every shape and size in every corner of India,” he said.

The platform lists over 19 crore products from more than 20 lakh sellers, with 3 lakh sellers added in the past year.

Its Buy Now Pay Later facility serves over 8 lakh business customers.

The company is investing Rs 2,800 crore in 2026, up from Rs 2,000 crore in 2025, in infrastructure to strengthen its delivery capabilities, which has helped it reach one million deliveries in a day and four million in two days, the official said.

Amazon Business uses the company’s shared fulfilment network of over 65 centres, including around two in Kolkata, Bhaduri said.

The delivery network covers all serviceable PIN codes, with over 97 per cent receiving deliveries within two days.

He declined to comment on investment breakups or plans for new fulfilment centres.
