Three friends killed after car hits motorcycle in Alwar

Three friends riding a motorcycle were killed after a speeding car hit their bike from behind in Alwar district, police said on Sunday.

Police said the accident on Saturday night happened due to overspeeding but have taken note of the complaint of the deceased's family who alleged that the youths were killed over an old enmity.

The collision in Moti Nagar area was so severe that the motorcycle and the car crashed into a wall, and one of the bike riders was thrown into the drain, police said., they said.

The deceased were identified as Jitendra Singh alias Chhotu (22), Yuvraj alias Yuvi (21), and Himanshu (22) of Kala Kuan area, police said.

Station House Officer Sunil Tank said the three people were taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The car, registered in the name of Sachin Meena, allegedly had four to five youths travelling in it. They abandoned the vehicle at the spot and fled after the accident, according to the police.

Family members and locals held a protest outside the hospital on Sunday morning, demanding action against those responsible and refusing to take the bodies until the alleged accused were proceeded against.

The families have alleged that the three youths were killed due to an old enmity.

Tank said the preliminary investigation suggested that the incident was a road accident caused by overspeeding. However, in view of the allegations made by the families, police are investigating the case from all angles after receiving their complaint, he said.
