ABVP holds Tiranga Yatras across country on Kargil Vijay Diwas

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised Tiranga Yatras, tribute gatherings, and nation-awareness programmes across universities, colleges, and cities on Sunday to mark the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, while simultaneously condemning what it described as objectionable and inappropriate remarks against the Indian Army made by anti-national elements at Jantar Mantar during the recent CJP protest.

The events were held across New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jammu and Kashmir, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chandigarh, with millions of students and young people participating in what ABVP described as a reaffirmation of the spirit of Nation First.

ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki said the organisation has consistently fought for the resolution of legitimate student issues related to examination irregularities, including NEET-UG, and welcomed the government’s recent decisions in response to student concerns.

He listed the Union Education Minister’s resignation accepting moral responsibility, the establishment of fast-track courts to act against examination mafias, administrative reforms aimed at making the examination system more accountable, and the introduction of legislative provisions prescribing up to ten years of imprisonment and financial penalties of up to Rs 10 crore for those guilty of irregularities in public examinations as significant and welcome steps.

“Under the pretext of addressing students’ demands regarding irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, certain individuals sought to advance an anti-national agenda for political gain by exploiting students. However, the students of India will not allow any such attempt to succeed,” Solanki said. “The Tiranga Yatras organised across the country today have once again demonstrated that India’s youth remain firmly committed to protecting the nation’s unity, integrity, and national security with a spirit of Nation First.”

ABVP said it expects the government’s announced initiatives to be implemented effectively and expeditiously, alongside broader institutional and structural reforms, so that the examination system becomes more transparent, reliable, and student-centric.

The organisation said its demand for comprehensive reforms in the education system continues regardless of the political developments around the protest.
