Abhay Verma named chief spokesperson of Delhi Govt

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday appointed MLA Abhay Kumar Verma as Chief Spokesperson of the Delhi Government, with MLA Anil Kumar Sharma and Harish Khurana appointed as Spokespersons, with all three appointments taking immediate effect and the three officials tasked with presenting the government’s authorised position on contemporary issues and ensuring timely dissemination of official information to the media and citizens.
The Chief Minister said the appointments strengthen the government’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance. She said the mechanism will ensure that official and factual information concerning the government’s policy decisions, development works, and public welfare schemes reaches citizens and the media in a time-bound manner.
The Chief Spokesperson and Spokespersons will present the authorised stance of the Delhi Government on various issues as they arise. They will share official information regarding major decisions, policy initiatives, and matters of public interest.
They will also liaise with media representatives and provide clarifications on behalf of the government on facts and decisions when required. Additionally, they will be responsible for conveying the government’s perspective to the public based on information received through authorised channels from various departments.
