20% quota to ex-Agniveers in police, forest dept in Gujarat

The Gujarat Government has announced a package of recruitment benefits for former Agniveers, including 20 per cent reservation in direct recruitment to Class III posts across several State departments.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved the policy to facilitate the transition of ex-Agniveers into Government service after completing their military tenure. Along with the reservation, eligible candidates will receive an exemption from the prescribed physical efficiency test for the notified recruitments.

The Government has also approved relaxation in the upper age limit by up to three years for eligible candidates. Members of the first batch of the Agniveer scheme will be entitled to an age relaxation of up to five years. According to the State Government, the initiative aims to provide trained and disciplined former Agniveers with employment opportunities while strengthening the State's security and administrative services with experienced personnel.
