1,000 NCC Cadets mark International Yoga Day

NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati, NER Directorate, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with over 1,000 NCC cadets performing synchronised Yoga across Guwahati, Dubri and Kokrajhar, under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.
At the main event in Army Public School, Narangi Cantonment, Guwahati, NCC cadets from units across Kamrup Metro and Guwahati practised Yoga in unison following the Common Yoga Protocol. The session was conducted in collaboration with experienced instructors from North East Yoga and Meditation Centre, Guwahati. Brigadier NC Khuman, Group Commander NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati, while addressing the cadets, motivated them to adopt a disciplined life, emphasising that Yoga teaches balance, focus and resilience essential for nation building.
Cadets also took a pledge to make Yoga part of their daily routine and to act as “Mini Ambassadors” in their society to spread awareness on healthy and disciplined living. The event reinforced values of fitness, mental well-being, discipline, ownership and unity among youth.
From excellence in training to balance in Yoga, the celebrations reaffirmed NCC’s commitment to shaping healthy, responsible and patriotic citizens.
