Sitharaman visits New Mangalore Port; reviews infrastructure

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday visited the New Mangalore Port and reviewed its operations, infrastructure and ongoing activities.
She is on a two-day visit to Karnataka and is scheduled to be in Bengaluru on Sunday.
“Nirmala Sitharaman visited the New Mangalore Port in Panambur, Mangaluru, and reviewed its operations, infrastructure and ongoing activities. The port plays a vital role in Karnataka’s trade, logistics and coastal development,” her office posted on X.
She later interacted with representatives of trade bodies, MSMEs and industry in Mangaluru, according to her office.
Member of Parliament Brijesh Chowta, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs Chairman Vivek Chaturvedi, and CBIC member Yogendra Garg were also present on the occasion, it added.
