Sitharaman meets Qatar Finance Minister on G20 sidelines

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met her Qatar counterpart Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, who appreciated India’s strong and resilient growth performance amid ongoing global economic uncertainty.
Sitharaman met the Qatar Finance Minister on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting, in Asheville, on Monday.
“HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari appreciated India’s strong and resilient growth performance amid ongoing global economic uncertainty,” the Finance Ministry said in a post on X. Al Kuwari also invited Sitharaman to attend the 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of AIIB, to be held in Doha later this month.
He said Qatar looked forward to India’s continued engagement for a successful and substantive meeting.
The two leaders discussed the strong strategic partnership between India and Qatar and ways to further deepen economic cooperation, including trade and finance, investments, energy cooperation, the India-Qatar Joint Task Force on Investments, infrastructure including shipping, ports and logistics, advanced manufacturing, and people-to-people contact.
