Shiv Sena will finalize Goa election strategy after poll schedule is announced: Shinde

Mumbai/Panaji, Sep 7 (PTI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday said his party Shiv Sena will finalize its political strategy in Goa once assembly elections are formally announced for the BJP-ruled coastal state.

Speaking to reporters after attending the 28th meeting of the Western Zonal Council held near Panaji, he noted the Shiv Sena and the BJP share a common ideology and are working together in Maharashtra and at the Centre.

Asked about the upcoming Assembly polls in Goa, Shinde, who heads the Shiv Sena, emphasised his party will finalize its political strategy once elections for the 40-member House are formally announced.

Assembly polls in Goa, where the BJP is in power since 2012, are due in the first half of 2027.

On the cancellation of Shiv Sena (UBT) corporator and former Mumbai mayor Vishakha Raut's membership from the civic body after her caste certificate was declared invalid, Shinde affirmed strict legal action will be taken against anyone contesting polls using fake documents or concealing critical details.
