2 teen boys drown in Shimla's Pabbar river, bodies sent for post-mortem
The bodies of two teenagers, who were swept away by strong currents while swimming in the Pabbar river in Shimla district, have been found, officials said on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Shiven Roshan and Saksham, both aged 16. They were students of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) in Rohru.
According to officials, the two went for a swim in the river after returning from school on Tuesday evening, and were swept away by strong currents.
On being informed, police immediately arrived at the spot and launched a search and rescue operation.
The team suspended the operation at night as darkness made it difficult, but they resumed the search on Wednesday morning.
A National Disaster Response Force team had also arrived from Shimla and joined the operation.
The bodies of the teenagers were found after the hours-long search, officials said.
Confirming the report, district administration officials said both the bodies have been sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
