Shafali Verma hits maiden T20I century as India beat Bangladesh by 114 runs

Shafali Verma struck her maiden T20I century as India defeated Bangladesh by 114 runs to secure a place in the women's cricket final at the Asian Games on Sunday.

Opting to bat, India posted 195 for four in their 20 overs, with Shafali leading the scoring with an unbeaten 100 off 49 deliveries. Her innings included nine sixes and three fours.

Smriti Mandhana contributed a quick 37, while Harmanpreet Kaur scored 40 off 33 balls to help India set Bangladesh a challenging target. 

Sanjida Akter Meghla was Bangladesh's most successful bowler, finishing with figures of 1/25.

Bangladesh struggled in the chase and were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs. Opener Dilara Akter top-scored with 27 off 23 balls.

For India, Nandani Sharma took three wickets for 25 runs, while Shree Charani claimed two for seven and Deepti Sharma returned figures of three for seven.  (with inputs from PTI)
