Revanth Reddy reshuffles key Telangana posts, names new heads for Planning Board, Women’s Commission

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday, September 3, cleared a reshuffle of key nominated posts, moving Gadwal Vijayalakshmi to the State Planning Board and appointing new heads for the Women’s Commission and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority, hours after dropping Endowments Minister Konda Surekha from the Cabinet.
The changes were formalised through government orders issued by the General Administration Department.
Dr G Chinna Reddy’s appointment as Vice Chairperson of the Telangana State Planning Board was rescinded with immediate effect under GO Rt No. 1287.
Vijayalakshmi, who was serving as Chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women, was appointed to the vacant Planning Board post. She resigned as Women’s Commission chairperson as part of the reshuffle, and the government accepted her resignation on the same day under GO Rt No. 1290.
Nerella Sharada was appointed as the new Chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women under the same order, invoking powers under the Telangana Women’s Commission Act, 1998.
Former Rajya Sabha member G Sudha Rani was appointed Chairperson of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority for a two-year term from the date she assumes charge under GO Rt No. 1291.
The three orders were issued by Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on September 3.
The appointments came alongside the removal of Surekha from the Telangana Cabinet. Revanth Reddy sent a formal recommendation to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla for her removal after the Congress high command cleared the decision.
