Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announces welfare events for PM Modi's birthday
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced a series of welfare initiatives across the national capital to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday, including a 108-Kundiya Hawan, a new organ donation portal, city-wide blood donation camps, and the launch of the NaMo Shramik Kendra for workers.
Gupta said a 108-Kundiya Hawan was conducted at Khatu Shyam Temple on GT Karnal Road, offering prayers for the Prime Minister's long life and continued service to the nation. The Delhi government also launched its first official organ donation portal, with Gupta signing up as its very first registered donor, alongside a mega blood donation camp that saw participation from thousands of residents through the day.
The state also launched the NaMo Shramik Kendra, aimed at giving workers and labourers direct access to various government welfare schemes. Gupta said a song created by schoolchildren would also be released on the occasion, and that residents would light a lamp in the evening in tribute to the Prime Minister.
BJP MP Yogender Chandolia said the hawan was part of a nationwide "Sankalp Abhiyan" being observed from September 17 to October 17, dedicated to beneficiaries of government welfare schemes across the country.
Separately, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma extended birthday greetings to Modi, calling him the "architect of a developed India" and crediting his leadership for accelerating development across rural and urban India and strengthening the country's internal security and global standing.
