Rapid growth drives GDA revenue

Ghaziabad is rapidly emerging as a modern and dynamically developing city, carving out a new identity for itself. The growing pace of development activities, residential and infrastructure development, along with the expansion of investment and construction-related activities, is having a clear and positive impact on the revenue collection of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).
During the current financial year 2026-27, from April to August, the GDA has recorded revenue of Rs 7,111.24 lakh (approximately Rs 71.11 crore) under the Development Charges head, compared to Rs 3,950.33 lakh (approximately Rs 39.50 crore) during the corresponding period of financial year 2025-26. This represents an additional revenue collection of Rs 3,160.91 lakh (approximately Rs 31.61 crore) over the same period, registering a significant increase of approximately 80.02% year-on-year.
The substantial increase recorded particularly during July and August indicates a strong upswing in development and construction-related activities in Ghaziabad. It also reflects the expansion of economic activity through development-related approvals and processes.
An increase of more than 80% in revenue from development charges is not merely a revenue-collection achievement; it is also an important indicator of the growing pace of development and activity in the construction sector in Ghaziabad.
The significant increase in revenue will provide the Authority with greater financial capacity to undertake and accelerate development works.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority remains committed to transforming the challenges of rapid urbanisation into opportunities for planned and sustainable development, to make Ghaziabad a modern, well-organised city equipped with better infrastructure and improved civic facilities for its citizens.
The Authority’s objective is to maintain this positive momentum in development activities and ensure the optimum utilisation of available resources for public welfare and the overall development of Ghaziabad.
