Rajasthan CM launches 340 projects worth Rs 491 crore in Rajsamand
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 347 development projects worth over Rs 491 crore in Rajsamand district, saying his Government is working towards the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Rajasthan-2047’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a public function at Bhikshu Nilayam in Rajsamand, Sharma also said the Government remains committed to the welfare of farmers, women, labourers and youth.
Asserting that the state Government has taken strict action against exam irregularities, he said 410 examinations have been conducted without leaks in the past two-and-a-half years.
According to an official statement, the projects include 266 works worth over Rs 369 crore which were inaugurated and 81 works (total cost Rs 122 crore) for which foundation stones were laid.
Sharma said the development initiatives would add a “new chapter” to the growth story of the region known for its cultural and historical significance, including association with Shrinathji and Maharana Pratap.
Highlighting measures for farmers, the chief minister said the annual assistance under the Kisan Samman Nidhi has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, while electricity subsidies exceeding Rs 61,000 crore have been provided. He added that under the PM Kusum scheme, farmers are emerging as energy producers.
He said livestock owners are being provided interest-free loans up to Rs 1 lakh under the Gopal Credit Card scheme, along with a subsidy of Rs 5 per litre on milk. Over 23 lakh insurance policies have been issued under the Chief Minister Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana, Sharma said, urging farmers to adopt natural and advanced farming practices.
On employment, he said the state Government has taken strict action against irregularities such as paper leaks, with 569 arrests made so far.
The chief minister said 410 examinations have been conducted without leaks in the past two-and-a-half years.
“The Government has provided over 1.78 lakh jobs, while recruitment is ongoing for more than 1.32 lakh posts and preparations are underway for another 70,000 posts,” he said, adding that the Rajasthan Youth Policy is aimed at promoting startups, entrepreneurship and self-employment.
He also said around 4.5 lakh employment opportunities have been generated in the private sector.
Referring to social welfare initiatives, Sharma said free textbooks and uniforms are being provided to students, along with distribution of bicycles to 14 lakh girls and scooters to 46,000 meritorious students.
Children at Anganwadi centres are being given milk five days a week, he added.
He said healthcare coverage is being expanded under the Chief Minister Health Scheme, while over 4.82 lakh coupons have been issued for free sonography services to pregnant women under the ‘Ma Voucher’ scheme.
The chief minister said social security pension has been increased to Rs 1,450 per month.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, over 4.40 lakh houses have been constructed, while LPG cylinders are being provided to beneficiaries at Rs 450, he added.
The CM also said one crore new beneficiaries have been added under the food security scheme and 18 lakh women have been brought into the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ category.
During the event, Sharma distributed motorised tricycles to specially-abled persons, benefit cheques under various schemes, loan cheques to women self-help groups under ‘Rajeevika’, and compassionate appointment letters to those orphaned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the major inaugurated projects are road strengthening works from Oladar Chauraha in Kumbhalgarh to Bhadsoda in Chittorgarh, a 220 KV GSS at Dariba, a milk processing unit in Nathdwara, sports stadiums and multiple road works across the district, health infrastructure projects, drinking water schemes and educational facility upgrades.
Foundation stones were laid for several projects including road construction works, urban infrastructure in Rajsamand municipal council area, rural water supply schemes, a community health centre building, canal construction, pipelines for drinking water supply, and waste management and irrigation-related infrastructure, the statement said.
Local MLAs and public representatives were also present at the event, along with a large number of residents, it added.
